Trustee: Prof John Hilton
Having gained a degree and PhD in chemistry at Liverpool University, John worked for Thames Water Authority and then Anglian Water Authority before moving to a research post at the Natural Environment Research Council’s Freshwater Biological Association in Windermere, where he studied the chemistry of lakes for 17 years. He took over as manager of the Natural Environment Research Council’s River Research lab in East Stoke, Dorset. Since taking early retirement, John has volunteered for several charities, including DCM. Here, as well as being a trustee, he is responsible for designing and implementing databases for recording the museum’s collections and has managed the transfer of collections to the Old School premises.
