Proceedings of the
Dorset Natural History and Archaeology Society
Home to many great writers and artists, most notably Thomas Hardy, Dorset can also boast the finest prehistoric landscape in Britain and geological wonders of the Jurassic Coast.
While Dorset inspires many articles and books, only the Proceedings of the Dorset Natural History and Archaeology Society, publishes with rigour of academic scholarship. For 138 years the Proceedings has published, from its home the Dorset County Museum, a remarkable collection of scholarly papers, monographs and reports from a wide range of disciplines to further knowledge and understanding of the County. Published annually for the Society's membership, there is much in every volume of Proceedings that will delight the casual reader or visitor to Dorset.
