We are delighted to be working with leading specialist fit out contractor The Hub for the new Museum. The Hub have an exemplar portfolio of projects spanning across Europe and the Middle East and a reputation for delivering innovation and excellence.
Their appointment on the project provides them with the opportunity to deliver a new cultural icon in Dorset and to continue their relationship with leading UK-based design practice Real Studios, who will also be working very closely with us to deliver the vision for the new galleries.
During the current lockdown, the team are still driving projects forward by continuing the offsite phase utilising telephone calls and video conferencing as well as email. This allows all members of the project team to communicate and continue to develop the technical drawings for all exhibition elements for approval by the Museum and Real Studios whilst working safely from home.
The Hub are continuously managing and coordinating the integration of all work packages while their highly skilled Design Technicians develop 2D/3D fabrication drawings for approval and to create ‘snapshots’ of the exhibition displays.
Throughout the month of April, their production facility has remained closed in line with Government advice on social distancing. During this time, they have been working to revise their working procedures to incorporate appropriate safe systems of work to allow them to re-open the workshop and continue their off-site manufacturing phase for the project. In other COVID 19 related news, The Hub recently partnered with Solidprint 3D to repurpose our 3D printer to produce face shields for key workers around the UK. We are incredibly proud of our ability to support our NHS in this time of need.
