FAMILY ACTIVITIES TO DO AT HOME

MAKE A MUSEUM AT HOME

While we’re busy making the new Museum from home due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we thought you may like to join us by having a go at making your own museum.

Below you will find a template and instructions for making your own museum at home, but this could also be made out of anything you have to hand from recycled materials to things you have found in the garden. It’s up to you how creative you’d like to get!

Once you have made your museum, it’s then time to fill the galleries with exciting objects. This could be things you’ve made or even objects from around your home. In the new Museum, we will have four galleries: Natural Dorset, People’s Dorset, Artists’ Dorset and Hardy’s Dorset, so we have shared some activity ideas to help you get started below.

We would love to see your creations, so please do send us photographs either via email or on social media using the hashtag #DorsetMuseumAtHome

Have fun!

FUTURE LEARNING

Bringing children and young people to a facilitated workshop in a museum is a very special experience.

We are busy selecting objects that best meet the needs of learners, and developing challenging and enjoyable workshops for children and young people to take part in when we reopen.

Please contact us if you’d like to get involved!
